DESMOND
Desmond was born a Russ bear designed by Riley. He is a darker brown rusty bear. Rather handsome indeed. His price was not so low after all. A well to do elderly lady came along and saw him sitting on a shelf in a doll and bear shop named Pinocchio’s. She decided to buy him for her new grandchild that was born a couple of days before. He was well received by the new mother and was immediately placed on the shelf above the crib. Eventually Desmond was put in the crib for Chris, the new baby’s name, to play with. Now Chris was one of those babies that was scared of everything. Every time Desmond touched him he cried.
What was a mother to do. She took the bear out of the room and put it in the good will. Angie had taken Charlie to the good will with her to look for a table. Charlie was very unruly. He just had never been disciplined so he pretty much did what he wanted. He took poor Desmond out of the plushie box and started kicking him around like a football. The manager saw it and was not pleased! Angie was embarrassed and gave the manager the money for Desmond. On the way home Charlie threw Desmond out the window. He landed on the lawn of 5 year old twin girls. They found him and almost pulled him apart each trying to say he was theirs.
Well, the mother of the twins knew this would not do so she took the bear inside, cleaned him up and listed him for sale on e-bay. Now I was down in the dumps and looking for something on e-bay to cheer me up when I spotted Desmond. He was just the thing. I bid on him and was so happy when he became mine. A friend knitted a short sleeve, short legged white dungarees for him with a sailboat on the tummy. It fits him perfectly…the little sailboat sitting on his plump tummy. Well, Desmond has found a home and someone who loves him. Lenora
